Based on Jeff Chen’s ‘Axel the Axe’ concept: https://www.artstation.com/artwork/ExNav I drew inspiration from this iconic idea to create my own piece, taking a fresh approach while staying true to its essence. The process was straightforward yet engaging, as I worked with just one layer and a single brush for most of it. Color selection played a crucial role in bringing this concept to life. I carefully picked hues that matched the original's vibe, but also allowed me to explore new shapes and forms as I painted. To capture the intricate hue variations, I started with a messy base coat and then slowly sculpted the shapes, all without relying on AO bakes or bases.
