# Printed Handles for Foron Gas Stove In general, some handles for gas stoves are already published, but none seem to fit Foron gas stoves. Therefore, I constructed new handles for this stove. They are plugged onto the control rods and held fixed by additional metal springs. The scale for the backing control is printed on aluminum, which can be attached to the handle using two metal pieces. I simply transferred it to the new handle. ## OpenSCAD Construction Files The OpenSCAD construction files of the designs can be found on github.com. <https://github.com/gnibeil/3D-Design-household-parts> ## Design and Thoughts At my stove, there are two different types of handles: one for regular cooking flames and one for backing. The cooking handle primarily needs to fit the dimensions of the control rod and the metal spring that fixes it. The rest can be designed as desired. The presented design is very easy and close to the original design. In the case of the backing control, you must decide whether to keep the scale from the original handle. If so, the dimensions for that must also be kept. My design does this. When transferring the aluminum part from the old to the new handle, it's best to clean the aluminum carefully because it could easily happen that you also remove the numbers on the aluminum. I rewrote them with a permanent marker. To make the handles easier to clean, I sprayed a bit of transparent varnish on them before installation. ## Printing I printed the handles with the "good" side facing the heat bed. This requires using supports, which would be necessary in either direction. These can be removed without any problem after printing. ## Heat Problem? In a stove, you must consider how hot the handle will become, as this directly influences the choice of material. For my Foron stove, I discovered that the heat distribution is not as I initially expected. I thought the hottest air would come out of the upper slit of the backing opening. However, when the backing is switched on, the hot air actually comes out of the holes directly behind the handles, where the control rods leave the frame of the stove. Therefore, I suggest avoiding materials with low melting temperatures.
