Handlebar Mount - iPhone 5 w/ Otterbox Case
thingiverse
Most smartphone accessories are designed without considering the size of a case, particularly Otterbox Defender series cases that are unusually large. I've created a custom application for an iPhone 5 housed in an Otterbox Defender case to attach it to a bicycle handlebar. Bicycle handlebars come in various diameters, but mine measures between 22mm and 23mm. To assemble this mount, you'll need the following materials: * 3D printed parts * Three zip-ties (also known as cable ties) * Two-side tape If you encounter any fitment issues, please leave a comment so I can address it. You can also modify the design by downloading the raw Autodesk Inventor part files. The images shown are of the first prototype, but the improved design is available in STL format on my website. To print this model, use a Flashforge Creator Pro with the following settings: * Rafts: No * Supports: Yes * Resolution: 0.2500 * Infill: 50% to 60% * Material: I used PLA, but ABS should also work well. After printing, watch the video for assembly instructions. To prevent the handlebar from rotating, apply two-sided tape inside the handlebar braces.
