I wanted a way to attach a cheap dollar store flashlight to my bicycle, so I decided to design and print a custom mount. The flashlight is held below the handlebar grip, at an angle so it points directly in front of the bicycle. (Note: it does not quickly go in or come out of the mount.)Regarding the uploaded model:ø29.65mm handlebar gripø24mm flashlightAngled for use on the left handlebar grip.LongevityUpdate: the mount survived a 24-mile ride and two trips on the freeway, so I'd say it's secure. I like it.This is what I consider a V1. I may update this listing if I make improvements.PrintingI printed it with 95A transparent TPU, which took 2 hours. I used a custom profile, but the main features are 3 walls and 15% gyroid infill. It needs supports, which are very hard to remove by hand, but not too difficult to cut off with a hobby blade (X-acto knife). If you've never printed with TPU before, try another model first. This one isn't especially tricky, but it probably shouldn't be someone's first TPU print.FittingThe part is designed to use friction to fit both the flashlight and the handlebar. This worked well, but it took a lot of force and “persuasion” to get it attached. The flashlight can't be quickly taken out unless you melt the holder or something.CustomizingI use Onshape, and the design for this part is public. You can measure your flashlight (or other cylindrical object) and bike handlebar grip and quickly customize the model, as long as you have an Onshape account (free or paid).I recommend adding a half millimeter of tolerance to your measurements. I didn't do this for my print, but it would have been a lot easier to attach if I had.FeedbackIf you use this model to attach a light or something to your bike, I'd love to hear how it went for you. Send a comment or a photo, or give this listing a like. Enjoy!
