Handlebar Adapter / Bicycle Riding Adapter
thingiverse
Minimalistic / simple ball and socket adapter to allow steering a bicycle handlebar. Designed for a young boy. Could be improved by making it customizable, which might be the next step. The clearance on the ball and socket are very tight, ball needs a good push to be inserted into the socket, a hammer has proven to be helpful. Adapter has a wide angle of action, it is easy for person to remove arm from device in case of a fall and if there is no chance for that the ball adapter will pop out if enough force is exherted on one of its sides like in the case of a fall. So adapter "fails" first. Version 3 has an added slit and screw to allow for tightening the socket and increase friction to improve feel of control. This is a work in progress, it is not a medical device or professional prosthetic, this can fail and might fail even when used as intended so use at your own risk. All feedback is welcome!
