Handle for Work Table
thingiverse
The original handle on my portable work table vise broke during an accident involving a circular saw. To fix this, I replaced it with a new red one that is 25mm longer to avoid repeating the same mistake. The design of the handle was inspired by columns in a building I saw and widens from 14mm to 21mm square. Since the handle end has overhang issues, it is printed fastener-end-down using a single base layer raft. To ensure strength, set up FILL SOLIDITY RATIO in the FILL window to 0.3. The hole in the handle opening measures about 6.5mm and tapers to 3mm. The screw length used for this application was a 3-inch (75mm) "Deck Mate" wood screw with fender washers on each side of the vise 'knee' hole.
