What is this?

This is a simple handle to attach to the lid of the Sparkmaker resin 3D printer. This allows you to take off the lid with only one hand, a problem I didn't foresee when I bought it. This solves that problem by allowing you to pick it up with a pinch of your fingers. It's small, but that's to save on materials.

Printing and Usage Notes

This is designed to print in the Sparkmaker as-iswithout supports. Attach it to the lid with a strong adhesive that works on plastics. I used E6000 adhesive to attach it and it seems strong enough. Any 2-part epoxy should work. Superglue might be too brittle for this application.

Of course, you can print it with a normal 3D printer and at a larger scale, but the steep overhangs might be an issue for an FDM printer.

What's the STEP file?

A STEP (or STP) file provided if you want to edit this design. STEP files offer more flexibility than STL files in CAD packages. As such, all of my future designs will include a STEP file. This file is generally incompatible with 3D printing software (like Cura), so use the STL file if you only want to print the model.

Print instructions

Category: 3D Printer Accessories Summary

What is this?

This is a simple handle to attach to the lid of the Sparkmaker resin 3D printer.
