In the '60s, Harley Davidsson purchased half of Aermacchi's motorcycle division, leading to the production of smaller motorcycles under their brand. One such model was the M50S, a 50cc 2-stroke bike produced in 1965-66 with around 9,000 units made. A friend and moped enthusiast, Daniel Pero, acquired one that needed restoration. He successfully brought it back to its former glory, but faced challenges in finding spare parts. To recreate a worn handle, he opted for 3D printing using NinjaFlex TPE in a 'concrete' color, as close to the original rubber feel as possible. The result was satisfactory, and the restored 1966 HD M50S was featured in a Swedish magazine with a 10-page story and front cover.
