Hover boards, or balance scooters, used to be a thrilling experience that ended in a sudden stop with a loud bang. However, newer and safer versions are now available, providing an opportunity for people with limited mobility to enjoy the ride. Electric wheelchairs or scooters can cost thousands of dollars, making them inaccessible to those on a fixed income. The Handi Hover Mobility Bracket offers a solution to this problem. Once printed using ABS or PETG at 100% infill for added strength, a 5/16" x 2" hex bolt is inserted through the hole, and felt tape is applied inside the bracket. The bracket is then attached to the center of a standard hover board using 3" pipe clamps. The front casters from a wheelchair are removed, and extra brackets are added. The foremost bracket is secured to the Handi Hover Bracket with washers and a wingnut using thread lock. To ride the balance scooter, simply sit down and position your feet on the pads. Minimal strength in your feet or lower legs is required, making it accessible even for children. A warning: standard wheelchairs are top-heavy, and at high hover board speeds may tip if you corner too quickly. If your hoverboard beeps, it's a sign that you're going too fast! Some balance scooters have speed-limiting features; consider using one of those if you're concerned about the rider going too fast. This is a non-commercial endeavor in development and should not be used for commercial purposes. The bracket can also be used to connect a hand truck or wagon to your hover board, allowing you to drag items along as you ride.
