This is a long-lasting bucket/hoe controlled by hand and arm for play in the sand or snow. Made for young children, grown-up arms need readjusting. Instructions Nothing beats a 3d printed design that won't break (especially toys) and I've thus optimised this design for strength. It needs assembly, some smoothing with sandpaper, and glue to complete. It's been put through its paces in real life (with ABS) and has held up under heavy use with a toddler digging hard into wet beach sand. To print the necessary parts, you will need: bucket1-5 (five pieces), armCylinder1-8 (eight pieces), 4x studHalf, 2x handGripHalf, 18x bracket, and 4x studTop. Simplify part connections by sanding the edges. Assembling the arm: Combine two parts at a time with welds using brackets. These brackets are designed for use with 3mm filament but can also handle 1.5mm. If you prefer, you may use a drill instead of a Dremel tool. The buckets: Join bucket3.stl and bucket4 or 5 to either side of the welding holes on bucket1 or 2 at either top of your design. This decision will result in one side facing forward with the smooth surface and the other with the roughened finish. Keep everything aligned using acetone for extra grip, enlarging drill holes could be beneficial too, also use an alignment tool if possible while assembly welding bucket1 with remaining parts by placing one end through an acetone held bracket. The rest of the construction is made in a similar fashion. Finally put two studHalve stl together and join it into bucketCylinder. Position for connection aligning and place studs within brackets weld each open side using tops, bucket arms can move without restraint on their new base joint. Be warned: this process requires some time to set up however, doing the job is simple and an easy way of engaging kids while being fun as well
