I possess a Uniden UHF handheld radio model UH-040XR. This device was subjected to a significant impact, resulting in the breakage of the protective shroud surrounding its antenna. Given that the radio is many years old and still functional, sourcing replacement parts has proven to be an impossible task due to their unavailability. As someone who derives satisfaction from tinkering with mechanical devices, I carefully removed the back panel of the radio, revealing a straightforward opportunity to fabricate a new shroud.
