Handbrake FSR v2
grabcad
I needed a handbrake for my simulation rig, and I couldn't find any one handbrake that fit my requirements. Also no one so far have utilized a force sensitive resistor, and I had such a thing laying around from a previous project. All parts except for the FSR and the lever arm is 3D printed. The casing and main handle is PLA, can be PETG. The finger "grips" and "spring" is made of TPU, shore hardness of 95A.The lever arm is made out of 5083 ALU, but can be made of any thing that is sturdy enough. The "spring" that presses on the FSR, gets it elasticity from it's infill percentage. I would suggest you not go above 6~8% uniform infill, and definitely do not use adaptive infill! You want to have as much squish as possible, the strength comes from the design, use only 2 shells/perimeters.Have a look at an optimized version of the Brake shaft/lever, made by Bracket Man;Lever optimizationIf you encounter a problem, leave a comment down below.
