I pulled the lever on my hand vacuum pump and broken plastic pieces came out. Here is a video on disassembly: https://youtu.be/cw1cC_tNoa0 I have uploaded a photo of how the pieces MUST go together to release pressure when you release the lever. The seal goes in between the 2 pieces. Once I confirmed fit (Bit of filing to smooth pieces out. Also the 2 pieces should easily slide.) I glued in the metal rod with crazy glue. I tossed a bit of dielectric grease on the inner walls and parts for good measure.
