I've been experimenting with innovative threaded assembly mechanisms and that's how this project came about. I applied my thread concept to create a clamp as robust as possible, entirely made from 100% 3d printed parts. To achieve this, I had to carefully consider each component to ensure it respected the grain of the 3d print. However, keep in mind that it's still a 3d printed plastic clamp, so don't push its limits too far! Print Settings: I used standard draft settings with PLA material for all prints. After testing, I discovered that the small "SlideHinge" parts consistently fail first, breaking off at the tip where they capture the rotating knob. If you want a stronger design with minimal modifications, consider printing the "SlideHinge" part solid. Check out this clamp crushing objects: Assembly video:
