Hand Router Plane
thingiverse
I've taken my first stab at creating a hand router plane, drawing inspiration from Veritas router plane blades, specifically those available at Lee Valley under catalog number 67484. As I didn't have a physical example to measure against, the design may require some fine-tuning. The screws used for adjusting blade height and locking the blade in place are standard M4-0.70 fasteners, easily obtainable from any local hardware store. If this plane proves successful once its kinks are worked out, I'm intrigued by the possibility of trying lost-PLA metal casting to create a durable iron plane that can withstand wear and tear – something my 3D printed polymers are unlikely to endure.
