A hand propeller, a very ancient and common toy, that teaches us a lot about the fundamentals of Lift. Learnt about a cool SolidWorks feature called 'flex'. A very handy tool to model airplane propellers and similar structures! (What a bummer that 3D preview does not work for SolidWorks versions 2018 or higher! -_- )Mechanical Engineering Fact: Apparently, the catch lies in the twist or swirl design of the wings of the top fan part. This is because, the wing tip has to have a lower angle of attack (AOA) than the wing root so that it can generate lift. Now I am going to 3D print it using PLA and test for the performance. Do you know what a wing stalling is???
