Hand Ping Pong Paddle
thingiverse
Here's a ping pong paddle you can make by inserting your hand into it. A fresh take on the classic paddle, this new design is completely fair play in the game of ping pong. With this innovative paddle, you'll win every match hands down. You'll also play much better overall, thanks to enhanced accuracy and acceleration within the game. To top it all off, you'll impress your friends and opponents alike with your awesome skills. For this DIY project, you'll need some wood, wood glue, a laser printer, and 400-grit X-fine sandpaper. I used plywood for the paddle's core, gluing two layers of ply together to create a strong foundation. The paddle measures up perfectly, fitting any hand like a glove. You might need to adjust the handle for a snug fit, but overall it's a perfect measurement. Simply assemble all the pieces, add some sandpaper to the paddle and wait 48 hours for it to dry completely. Now you're ready to dominate every ping pong match. The first step is to create the paddle design in Adobe Illustrator. Start by creating a new page at 20 x 20, then draw a circle shape and attach an arc to the end of it. Next, create a separate page measuring 10 x 11 to design your handle for the paddle. You'll need two handles: one with a hole for your thumb and another for your other fingers. Once you've got them done, print out all four sheets of plywood needed for the paddle on a laser printer. After that, glue the two layers of paddle pieces together, followed by gluing the two handle components onto the handle base. Allow everything to dry overnight before using your new ping pong paddle for 1-2 days and you'll be good to go!
