My faucet had a long-term leak and rusted a bit. Very difficult to get in there and extract with tools. I measured the replacement and made this hand-held unit with finger notches. I recommend using this to hold the piece in place while you or someone else untightens from the top. This is a very snug fit, so push down hard and it should snap into place. Just be careful, some unscrupulous companies do not place the thread holes equally spaced around the circle (American Standard) and it may not fit. Check your spacing first before printing. And even if it is off, you can always heat up the end and sink it into the piece for a perfect fit.
