Hand crank motorizer

Hand crank motorizer

This attachment combines a budget-friendly power screwdriver with a hand-cranked device. Specifically, it converts a manual yarn ball winder into an electric yarn ball winder. Several revisions were necessary to achieve the desired outcome. Designed using OpenSCAD software, the model is a simple text file that can be customized to fit your specific hand crank. The steel shank is a leftover flat head screwdriver bit from another drill set. The Stanwood Needlecraft - Large Metal Yarn Ball Winder 10 oz - Heavy Duty was used with this attachment, but I have no affiliation with the manufacturer. This winder is identical to the one found on https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4193119. Print Settings: Printer: Monoprice Mini Select Rafts: Yes Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.1mm Infill: 100% Notes: I printed this model in PLA at 190°, positioning it to minimize grain weakness. To achieve optimal strength, the print is oriented perpendicular to the expected orientation. Post-Printing: Apply super glue to the screwdriver bit. The print's orientation allows the screwdriver bit to fit snugly, with its blade facing upwards. Custom Section: The tool in action.
