Hand Crank for Antique Singer Sewing Machines
thingiverse
A compact hand crank designed for an antique Singer sewing machine is available. This small version is incredibly tiny; the larger one is more functional. It was specifically created for the 1901 Singer Model 27 VS, but it should work on most vintage machines. There's a 3mm hole at the end of the standard version's handle - this allows you to place a floating or spinning hand grip over the dowel and screw in a stopper so that it doesn't come off. The petite version has no such hole. To install, remove the stop-motion knob from the center of the handwheel after taking out the small set screw. You'll find the washer that matches up with the notches on this print. You can either remove the washer entirely (the notches are designed to fit) or place the crank over the washer and then screw the stop-motion knob back on, replacing the set screw. You can see it in action at https://photos.app.goo.gl/YUq1VqkDigCdPNDCA. Note: The stop-motion knob doesn't release the needle when using this crank due to friction. It's recommended that you either remove the hand crank or your needle when winding a bobbin.
