Hand Chisel Block Planes (Wedge Type)
thingiverse
I needed some planing done, so I used hand chisels and a 3D Printer to make do. To get started, just stick your chisel into the appropriate body size, then tap the wedge in until it seats properly. For the right geometry, place the front bevel of the chisel facing down towards the work piece. The wedge is designed to also serve as the chip breaker or curler, whatever term you prefer. I wouldn't expect this makeshift block plane to perform like a legitimate one, but it will get the job done in an emergency. It comes sized for 3/8", 1/2" and 3/4" chisels, which are Great Neck brand in my case.
