The model strives to replicate many of the intricacies of Han Solo's DL-44 from Star Wars: A New Hope. Reference images were sourced from blurry screengrabs and Lucasfilm archive photos online. The model is designed in multiple parts to amplify detail and facilitate painting. Some components necessitate support and adhesives for assembly. Notes (May 10, 2016): The heatsink poses a challenge during printing. I printed it at an angle so that the ridges lay flat on the printbed. PLA support material was utilized, but soluble support material will undoubtedly improve its print quality. Notes (March 7, 2016): I added several components: A bolt stop. A sight cap screw (print two to secure the sight to the slide). A modified slide featuring a hole for inserting the bolt stop. A sight. A sight sliceable measurer. A lateral button for the slide measurer. A new grip with a rounded base, more akin to the original grips. Print one and another flipped for the opposing side.
