Hamster Wheel (squeakless)
thingiverse
A hamster's exercise wheel squeaks less with a 608 bearing, which can be held in place by printing and assembling 4 Quarter Wheel pieces via Makerbot. These pieces can have ventilation holes for better design. After assembling the entire wheel using hot glue, secure the 608 bearing in the middle hole with m4 bolts and washers. To attach the wheel to a cage, use an m8 bolt, washers, and nut threaded through the bars. Additional washers ensure smooth rotation. For Mendel/RepRap printers, print the entire wheel at once and follow the same steps. Extra holes can be added for decoration, and it's possible that tiny magnets on the back side of the wheel could generate current to power an LED.
