Hamster wheel adaption on Aquarium
thingiverse
Hi,\r\n\r\nI stumbled upon an impressive adaptation for glass Aquarium Mounts on https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:675395.\r\n\r\nHowever, what I actually needed was a hamster wheel featuring bearings of type 608zz, which use an 8mm inner diameter. To accommodate M8 screws and a 608 bearing, I redesigned the part entirely.\r\n\r\nGiven the varying prices of magnets, I opted for four 40x20x2mm magnets to minimize shipping costs, securing them in place with regular adhesive.\r\n\r\nTo assemble, simply tighten an M8 bolt into the bearing. \r\n\r\nPlease note that printing a hamster wheel with minimal slip and adequate wall thickness is crucial; excessive mass inertia can cause undesirable loop-the-loops when the hamster attempts to stop. I learned this firsthand with a particularly slippery wheel lacking internal ribs, resulting in my hamster's uncool stunts.\r\n\r\nEnjoy your creation!
