Hamster Vending Machine (Syrian Hamster Sized Feeder)
thingiverse
I spotted Ollie's Vending Machine, but I wanted a larger version big enough for my Syrian hamster, Momma. So, instead of scaling it up, I decided to build my own vending machine from scratch on DesignSpark since I needed some hands-on practice. The design includes a removable top and a hook at the back that helps secure the vending machine to any part you prefer. Alternatively, you can print one without a hook. You can easily slide in your favorite picture; I picked an image off Google of sunflower seeds. For comparison, check out the original size next to Ollie's vending machine in picture 3. I recommend using this only during playtime since the top can come loose if your hamster is moving it around a lot (picture 5 shows what happens). Improvements are possible, but the design is print-ready. You can add supports or take the risk of printing without them. I printed with supports and had some sanding to do afterwards. Make sure to flip the lid upside down; no supports will be needed that way. Also, ensure the inside is free of leftover plastic before adding food.
