This device is actually a variation on the traditional Guiro drum instrument. To produce sound, simply run your hand along the wavy backside of the piece. Its design draws inspiration from this unusual frog-like shape.http://kytary.cz/meinl-nino516/HN096014/. If anyone has access to a 3D printer I'd be very interested to hear how it sounds - or better yet, find out what adjustments would bring the design even closer to that resonant timbre.
