Hamster Cage Ventilation System for Habitrail Cages

You can use this fan mount to keep your hamster more cozy in their Habitrail cage. One per cage works fine, or make two and attach them to a double-sized cage as I did. I've seen my hamster's temperatures become more even with these fans, but the real benefit is that it keeps the bedding fresher for longer, cutting down on how often I need to clean it. My hamster looks healthier when the fans are running, too - their fur doesn't get sweaty from sleeping in their nest anymore. The motivation for building this came from noticing my hamster getting overheated just by resting in his bed during the summer. It got even worse when I realized the cage was actually colder than outside air circulation. Something had to be done! Adding these fans took care of it right away. This fan mount comes with supports pre-assembled. Simply download, print and remove the supports before use. I found that using a large support system was unnecessary - just snap off the smaller supports and you're good to go. Don't worry if it doesn't look perfect; that's not its job. Please note that these fans need 12V but can run on low voltages, like 5V. If you're looking for similar sized fans, check out http://www.eckertech.com/40mm-fan/. These fans work great with Habitrail cages. You will glue the 3D printed part onto a Habitrail Ovo Window, drilling from the inside to ensure small bits don't remain on the outside that your hamster could accidentally ingest. Clean it up first, then apply super glue carefully around the larger area where it was previously flat so you don't mess things up. Attach the fan mount to either side of the 3D printed part but not onto any surfaces your hamsters might come into contact with. Use whatever size drill bit you prefer to make multiple holes through one surface; I would suggest small enough that nothing gets lodged inside that could possibly be a choking hazard, however large ones don't seem bad if covered correctly. When assembling everything just stick all parts together with strong glue - there should already have been quite a few already available since they come pre-installed when bought. Feel free to install fans anywhere in your cage where airflow will help most! Mount one end to a higher section than others so air moves freely while reducing mess caused if items fall into space. As long as there aren't sharp corners touching it nothing breaks easily, just keep it well out of reach to prevent any problems happening. Remember - there is no need for a switch; I found unplugging mine works fine. This makes my design lighter weight overall without added clutter while still providing good air circulation quality control options even at 5v operating mode which allows users flexibility with speed settings according their needs best suited during specific times like daytime versus nighttime routines. Adding lights into this circuit can enhance user experience allowing further customization through choosing different colors instead red because people naturally prefer them least amongst others during sleep periods; therefore incorporating such a component might prove useful based upon your personal preference towards what makes things more appealing aesthetically speaking without sacrificing core functionalities intended here. Lastly, I didn't design an actual PCB since protoboard will vary per board manufacturer thus hard-wiring specifics becomes tedious especially dealing different boards each requiring varying setup procedures which sometimes aren’t clearly stated by suppliers themselves - try tape wrapping everything together covering electronics from outside if you have those pesky parts left lying around everywhere after some use though they’re really useful items so far.
