I did not modify the holder compartment. I added a back to the unit with holes that matched the original. The original design rapidly became worthless as the little clips could not hold the remote in place past the slightest touch. It must have fallen on the floor a hundred thousand times over the years. One version posted has the edges cut out of the back. That is to clear the adjacent decor switch if you have one. If you print the one with the edges cut out it should not need supports as I angled the cut to the top, but use your slicers recommendation. Thanks diagnosis for making a fix.
