Hammerhead Ribozyme. The hammerhead ribozyme is a RNA molecule motif that catalyzes reversible cleavage and joining reactions at a specific site within an RNA molecule. It serves as a model system for research on the structure and properties of RNA, and is used for targeted RNA cleavage experiments, some with proposed therapeutic applications. This model depicts the Hammerhead ribozyme (1hmh-A_fixed.stl; blue in the figures) in complex with a DNA substrate analogue (1hmh-B_fixed.stl; red in the figures) The model is based on the Protein Data Bank entry 1HMH: http://www.rcsb.org/pdb/explore/explore.do?structureId=1hmh STL file created using VMD: http://www.ks.uiuc.edu/Research/vmd/ Print Settings: Printer Brand: MakerBot Printer: MakerBot Replicator 2 Rafts: Yes Supports: Yes Resolution: Standard Notes: Successfully printed in PLA on a Makerbot Replicator2 using MakerBot Desktop 3.9.0.961, standard resolution with 3 shells and 25% infill.
