Hamilton GO Centre operates as both a GO Transit railway and bus station situated at the intersection of Hunter Street East and Hughson Street South in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. Notably, the term "Centre" within its name reflects the unique aspect that it serves not only as a regional train station but also as a primary hub for private intercity coach carriers such as Greyhound and Coach Canada, effectively replacing traditional regional bus terminals found at other GO stations. Constructed in 1933 as the headquarters of the Toronto, Hamilton & Buffalo Railway's main depot in addition to functioning as their passenger station, operations ceased on April 26, 1981, following which it underwent a merger into the Canadian Pacific Railway in 1987. This subsequently led to it becoming redundant. Efforts to reconnect GO Transit services more effectively within the Central Business District of Hamilton, alongside an intention to refine the connection with Hamilton Street Railway and centralize train and bus transportation facilities under one location, prompted renovation initiatives that ultimately converted the former railway facility into the current Hamilton GO Centre. Conceived by Garwood-Jones & Hanham Architects, it began operating on April 30, 1996.
