Ham Radio Tower Model Memento
thingiverse
This easy-to-assemble radio tower model makes a fantastic handout and keepsake at radio club events, Field Day, STEM events, or your open house event. I carry stacks of these to events and give them out to attendees. You can use a felt-tip marker to write the call sign or frequency on the base of the tower. During Field Day, when guests make their first ham contact, we hand them a memento tower and welcome them to the hobby. Some people want the kit, while others prefer the pre-assembled tower – offer both! I've created a special version featuring a building with a red blinking LED inside the tower to grab attention. I'll upload it once the final design is complete. While not essential, applying a drop or two of plastic cement can make the assembled tower permanent. PLA works well, and printing white or red plastic allows you to paint the finished tower with traditional FAA markings. By printing many towers in different colors, you can mix and match the pieces as desired. Two distinct antenna styles are included.
