V 3 Still untested, but I'm working on this again. Shrinking it down so it can fit on a smaller 120mm x 120mm printer bed. Concept Notes: This is my experimental brushless micro drone design. It's a stretched plus configuration with props on different levels - that's what I call stepped if it doesn't already have a name. Is this ok for flight? I saw something similar on a quad-x design, and I recently bought a frame from eBay like that. One of the main goals of this build is to hide the propellers out of view while doing something different that looks cool and might be easier to tell which way it's facing when flying it freestyle without FPV. I plan on attaching the camera with a small plug so I can unplug it to save battery power if not using FPV. Even though I did a lot of research, I'm still guessing on some stuff. What angle do quadcopters even fly at while moving forward? Is it 45 degrees? A focus of this design was to get the propellers out of view and have the camera pointing straight ahead. I plan on making the camera mount adjustable. Parts List: (Note: I bought a parts kit from Aliexpress, searching for "brushless micro drone kit". I put a picture of what the parts look like.) 4* BE1104 7500kv Mini Brushless Motors - I think I'll use these different ones than in the image. (I've also included two files for bigger 1306 motors). 1* 2" 2.5" Propellers Guard Bumper Props Protector (Green or Blue) 1* 2 Pairs 2035 Propeller 2.0 inch 50.8mm PC Props 5-Blade CW CCW Paddle (Green or Blue) 1* Q25 MINI VTX+CAMERA 25mw 16ch Transmitter 800tvl coms Camera (Tested this, major dropouts with my cheap USB receiver. Will most likely use a better one.) 1* PIKO Mini BLX F3 Flight Control Tower 4 in 1 BLheIS 10A 2~3s ESC (Actually, I don't recommend this one for beginner soldering people. I broke one! The motor points are just too small and close together. Will be using something else!) Nylon or metal standoffs 30mm x 8. (16 bolts/screws for such). One thing nice about the parts kit is that it had more than enough mounting hardware to design my frame thicknesses around. Peace, and happy safe printing and flying!
