The M-145D Mobile Artillery Assault Platform (MAAP), also known as the Rhino, is a UNSC artillery tank that brings a unique firepower to the battlefield. By utilizing a prototype plasma cannon, the Rhino marks a significant milestone for the UNSC in successfully adapting and refining Covenant technology. At its core, the Rhino's experimental 320mm main cannon, codenamed "Zeus," harnesses and directs plasma energy with remarkable efficiency, much like other Plasma-based systems. However, to unleash the full potential of its Zeus cannon, the Rhino must enter lockdown mode, rendering it temporarily immobile. This requirement necessitates a non-traditional design for its six tread tracks, which are arranged in an unorthodox manner and result in the Rhino being significantly wider than its counterparts, such as the Scorpion or Grizzly tanks. Despite limited deployment during the Human-Covenant war, the Rhino has proven itself to be a valuable asset on the battlefield, providing crucial insights that have contributed to further advancements in UNSC technology.
