Halo 4 Helmet Medium Size B
thingiverse
This redesigned Halo 4 helmet is a mix between the Adult Size A (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:158120) and Small Child Size C (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:181491). You can find more pictures and instructions on hosting blog-like content at http://projects.hackaday.com/project/254-Halo-4-Helmet-(-Size-A%2C-B%2C-C-). The medium sized vac form for the visor is available at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:217267. The helmet is considered complete with a good first fit, and all STL files are correctly oriented for printing at a medium resolution of .2mm, 2 shells, and 10% infill with raft and support. Do not reorient or allow Makerware to auto-scale the model. Print as many parts as possible on your build plate without warping. The 9V battery mount is built into the peak, and tie wrap mounts are integrated into the walls for LED mounts. Use a transparent material for insert and visor parts. Magnets are placed directly in the parts, with 19 pieces of 3/8 x 1/10 99K32.03 magnets needed (http://www.leevalley.com/en/wood/page.aspx?p=32065&cat=1,42363,42348). Tension pins for assembly are 1/8" x 5/8", shorter than the original. You'll need 46 pieces of 1/8" x 5/8" tension pins (240-008) (http://www.spaenaur.com/pdf/sectionE/E107.pdf). Note that this version has M4 hex head bolts with 6mm shafts. Additional images show the tension pins and magnets for size and example use.
