Halo 4 Helmet Full Size ( Adult - 6'6" plus )
thingiverse
This deprecated model is now superseded by a right-sized version at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:158120. The following information is historical. Be warned that this model is too big; it might be suitable for a master chief figure, but is larger than expected. Do not build it unless you are over 7ft tall. I have added visor STL models as proof of concept for future vacuum-formed visors, although they lack all mounting points. Resizing and remodeling will require minimal work, including pin and magnet placement adjustments and checking wall thicknesses. All parts have been upsized compared to the child-sized version and are being thinned. Ensure careful orientation when printing, as support implications vary. For the rear left bottom corner pieces, use 5/8 tension pins instead of 3/4 ones to avoid pin clashes. The jowl and chin pieces feature a cavity for magnet attachment and LED insertion, respectively. Magnets used are 3/8 x 1/10 99K32.03, while 3/8 steel cups (99K32.52) hold them. Jowl Insert STLs accommodate RGB candles from http://www.hero-ledstore.com/rgb-color-submersible-battery-operated-led-tealight-candle-p-1851.html for aesthetic purposes. Print on a Replicator 2 using makerware with latest firmware settings: 0.2mm layers, support, and raft. Attention to orientation in provided photos is crucial for successful prints. In the back corner case, 1/8 x 5/8 pins are needed due to clash issues.
