To make the assault rifle from https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2165992 more manageable, I broke it down into four distinct sections. This allowed for a smoother assembly process and fewer seams overall. I used Microsoft 3D Builder to disassemble the entire gun into its individual components. Next, I created precision pins to facilitate alignment during reassembly. A total of six carefully placed pins were required to complete the assembly. To produce the included pin at 99% scale, I utilized my 3D printer. The resulting part fit together seamlessly with a snug friction fit that eliminated the need for glue. However, applying glue to the mating surfaces is still an option if desired.
