I designed this model for a halo-inspired game, specifically tailored for 3D printing. To achieve optimal results, I highly recommend using supports whenever possible; I personally use Simplify3D for my prints, and it's definitely worth considering. The most straightforward way to print the part is in two sections - any other method would be suboptimal. Designing This Model I used 3DS Max as my design tool of choice. First, I modeled the assault rifle in high-poly format, which allowed for a smooth adaptation into the game environment. Next, I converted it to a low-poly version suitable for use within the game engine and exported it to a .stl file, ready for 3D printing.
