Halo 3 - Gravity Hammer
thingiverse
# HALO FOR ALL These files will print on a standard Ender 3 - all models are less than 220 mm in size. **UPDATE: April 18th, 2020** Reworked the model again, split everything into separate parts, and included instructions. All previous versions have been saved in an archive folder! UPDATE: June 3rd, 2019 Added a new file called '200mmCubeSplit.zip' that contains smaller blocks of the bigger piece. For example, the head part of the hammer is split into 12 correctly sized parts. Now I can print this on my Ender 3! I love Halo and grew up playing it; modeled this as a gift for my wife (and me)! This model was made in Maya LT. There are also Maya LT files available for editing, along with an FBX file. The model is to scale, with a target height of 203.7 cm. You can view the original design at https://www.halowaypoint.com/en-us/universe/weapons/gravity-hammer. # Instructions *I have included a smaller 4-part version if you want to try printing the hammer in a smaller size.* These files are all in millimeters, but Maya was being weird with its units. Make sure your file "Halo3_GravHam_Cylinder_1.75inD_72inL.obj" is set to 1828.8 mm tall. There are many files available, totaling 116 in all. Print them all, and make sure to print multiple times for the models that end with "X" followed by a number. Also, be aware of the mirrored files that end with either "_L" or "_R". You can see in the files there is a Cylinder folder, which contains reference designs only. The units are in millimeters, but I designed this for working with tubes in inches. * Core handle: 1.75 inches diameter and 72 inches long * Blade support: 1 inch diameter and 30 inches long * Arm support: 0.5 inch diameter and 12 inches long FIND A TUBE(S) FOR SUPPORT and have yourself a real gosh darn Grifball time! (The ball is not included.) # Notes I noticed that many online models were direct rips from the Halo 3 game files, which lost detail due to being ripped from a game engine model. This model has plenty of detail now in its base geometry. Things to note are the model's edges; this model is comprised of polygons, so the curved faces may show some stepping. To counter that, the model has a ton of geometry and has been combined. Good luck and have fun! ## Special Thanks Thank you to Bungie for Halo 3, and to Augmentedhuman013 for inspiring me to continue!
