Halo 3 Fuel Rod Cannon

Hello! This is a passion project where I have up scaled/ detailed/ made printable the Halo 3 ODST game asset for the Fuel Rod Cannon. The original file Located here https://www.405th.com/forums/resources/halo-3-odst-covenant-weapons.172/ (Thank you Chernobyl) was the base for the final model. I claim no rights to the original model and all credit should go the original creator or their respective company/organization.The original .obj was edited my me in Google SketchUp in order to add additional polygons through subdividing and details present in the games textures that are not present on the model itself. The files are scaled to 80% scale based off of the Halo wikis, about 105cm long vs 130.8cm. The current size is arguably correct for what is seen in game when held by NPC's or the player and if scaled up by 1.25 times in order to get to "full scale" the support pegs/blocks may not fit correctly as I allowed .3mm of tolerance on all supports. Additionally two 250mmX8mm z axis rods for a 3D printer were used in order to support the barrel and allow it to reciprocate into the body of the prop and changing the scale will cause issues for sizing. I recommend printing the support pegs horizontally to maximize the load bearing potential. 3 walls were used on the two arches and connection piece above the hand guard while all other parts used 2 wall each. All 5 arch prints will need to be mirrored from the left side included to produce the right side. HoodAxleInner will need to be printed twice as well. Very minor creative liberties were taken when adding the details. I did my best to keep things true to the OG textures.Tips:Dry fit before gluingThe Barrel Hood Axle is made so that the hood will rest above, not on, the arch. Keep this in mind as only the two INNER axle parts should be glued in place. Dry fit everything first as the whole axle is made to stop the hood from rotating too far in one direction, When the barrel is retracted the hood should roll up as it comes into contact with the two arches up front.Dry fit before gluing Almost 4KG of filament was used for this build and I HIGHLY recommend sanding the surfaces where parts meet and not to rush to glue things together as it is possible to ruin the build if something is glued in place at the wrong time. Both Arches1-5 may be glued with no issue. Lower1-6 may be assembled early as well along with Top1-2. Be patient and smart when going for final assembly to avoid issues! I may update this slightly in the future as I had wanted the barrel to be spring loaded and the lock for it to act as a release instead of just a lock. For now this will be version 1.0. Number of support pegs needed assuming I can count:34XSupport Peg 12XSupport Peg 24XSupport Peg 34XSupport Peg 42XSupport Peg 51XSupport Peg 62XSupport Peg 7I think that's everything? If something was left out I will be sure to add it!
