I recently stumbled upon Thomas Sanladerer's fantastic filament diameter sensor, and I'm thrilled to report it's a game-changer; it outperforms my previous design in every way. With its exceptional sensitivity and rock-solid reading stability, this sensor is a masterpiece of engineering. Plus, it's surprisingly affordable. In short, it's the simplest solution I've ever laid eyes on. I took Thomas's brilliant design and gave it a thorough makeover, shaving off about 50% of its original size while still making it a breeze to print. The result is nothing short of amazing! I plan to integrate this sensor into my Felfil spool winder, but first, I need to update the firmware to accommodate the new reading method.
