Half-Turn Domino
grabcad
The 'domino' puzzle is a half-turn version of a 3x3x2 cube, inspired by Oskar Van Deventer's Half-Turn Cube. It appears like a regular 3x3x3 cube but can only make 180-degree turns on all faces except the top and bottom which allow 90-degree turns. To distinguish the turning capabilities, blue plastic was used for the middle slice, while the outer slices are in tan color. A turn is possible when all blue pieces align, otherwise, they must be rearranged. Unlike the original half-turn cube and tetrahedron, this puzzle uses internal bandaging to restrict turns to 180 degrees, making it look like a normal 3x3x2. It was designed in Solidworks and printed on Makerbot Replicator 5g for tan pieces and Printrbot Simple Metal desktop 3D printer for blue ones.
