This object was created using Tinkercad, where you can edit it online at https://www.tinkercad.com/things/6hRS3wYuF7N. It's a hinge designed to transform two 6 inch bowls into an opening sphere. My granddaughter requested a world that could unfold, so I made this hinge to connect and open up two cheap half-sphere plastic picnic bowls, revealing her imagined universe inside. Print off two copies of this design, then use a 3mm rod to link one to the other - a cocktail stick should also work. This design is intended for a 6 inch (150mm) bowl with 2mm thick walls.
