Half Octahedron, Make Your Own

Half Octahedron Exploring 3D space can be both fascinating and perplexing at times. To dissect a platonic octahedron, we must uncover its hidden structure. Rather than simply dividing it into two square pyramids, let's attempt something more intriguing. By applying a clever technique, we can break down the octahedron into two congruent pieces. Designing this in Fusion 360 is relatively straightforward using its dihedral angle of [180-arccos(1/3)]. To create a platonic octahedron, it's most efficient to start with a square and extrude it in two directions at a taper angle of (-acos(1/3)/2). Alternatively, we can begin with an equilateral triangle and then extrude and mirror around it. This process is both enjoyable and educational. Two versions are provided: solids and shelled (2mm). Additionally, the eighth pieces are included for your convenience.
