This is a half inch hem roller that helps fold material into a double fold before feeding it into a sewing machine. The channel is 0.5mm, allowing for thin materials like 1.1oz nylon to fit through easily. It can be tricky at first - you'll need to press against it as you pinch and roll the material into its final fold. Make sure the tongue is not facing the sewing machine or it could break the foot.
