Half Dodecahedron Dipping Dish
thingiverse
Just a clever exercise in transforming 3d geometric shapes into something truly functional. The design works incredibly well to keep the dip concentrated at the middle even when using an absurdly small amount of dipping fluid, such as soy sauce in my experiment. It also doubles as a perfectly adequate chopstick rest. Instructions A 10% infill is sufficient. However, ensure that the roof thickness measures at least 1.5mm to avoid any potential issues. ABS is the preferred material due to its food-safe properties. The sloping walls make it easy to print with no-raft/no-support settings, which can save a significant amount of time during printing. While a raft can be used for added stability, it is not strictly necessary in most cases.
