This is a custom version of Amadon's Chimera direct drive extruder, with key modifications: I removed the right motor and idler to make room for a bowden tube. The resulting half-bowden, half-direct-drive setup has several benefits over the original design: it reduces weight on the X carriage, and its narrower width it still allows easy use of flexible filaments it simplifies assembly, particularly eliminating the need to replace motor screws with 3mm threaded rods I added a support for an induction probe and a rear blow fan (http://e3d-online.com/Electrical/Fans/50x50x15mm-12v-DC-Side-Blow-Fan) Print Settings Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: .2 mm layers Infill: 40% Notes: Use .2mm layers, except for the fan support (use .1 mm) Post-Printing Please follow instructions for the Amadon extruder with one exception: there is no need to replace motor screws with threaded rods. Instead, use 60mm M3 screws to secure the probe to the extruder and motor. I created this custom extruder using 123d Design and Meshmixer software. The probe and fan supports were also designed using the same tools.
