HAL HF-24 Marut

The HAL HF-24 Marut, a pioneering Indian fighter-bomber, made its debut in 1967 and was eventually retired in 1990. The aircraft saw action during the pivotal Indo-Pakistani war of 1971. Despite an underpowered engine plant that severely limited its performance, the Marut remains an intriguing aircraft due to its status as India's first successfully produced jet and the last project led by Kurt Tank, renowned designer of the Fw-190. A total of 147 Maruts were manufactured. The model was printed at a scale of 1:100 using a 0.2mm nozzle on an Ender3, but it can also be sliced with a 0.4mm nozzle and printed at 1:300 scale with 0.12 mm layers. I chose the two-part version to preserve most of the tail and nose details. Using some sandpaper helped minimize the visibility of the glued joint, which became nearly invisible once painted.
