Hi makers! This is my first attempt at replicating the full-scale HAL 9000. The replica measures approximately 34cm x 11cm x 2.7 cm. To get started, you'll need: * A Raspberry Pi (version 2 or 3) * A PAM8403 audio amplifier (available on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07CYSN9Z6/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) * A large arcade push button for the red eye (available on eBay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/100MM-DOME-MASSIVE-DIY-ARCADE-BUTTON-WITH-LED-CONVEXITY-CONSOLE-REPLACEMENT-ORNA/323413326425?_trksid=p2485497.m4902.l9144) * A 3.5mm stereo jack cable for scavenging * Wires * 1 LED and a 500 ohm resistor This replica is composed of four main parts, with the case split into two due to its size. I used extensive sanding and epoxy to achieve a smooth surface finish. Depending on demand, I may create additional assets (stickers, Python code). For now, the LED blinks in sync with CPU activity. In the near future, I plan to add voice functionality through either TTS or pre-recorded WAV files. Feel free to share your own makes; I'd love to hear from you!
