thingiverse
Create an eye-catching HAL 9000 plasma globe box with these laser-cut parts! First, cut out the black lines from the BOX file using 3mm acrylic, leaving protective paper on the "9000" part. Then, engrave the blue parts in the BOX and NAME files. Next, cut the GRILL file from semi-opaque 3mm acrylic. After that, cut the SURROUND file from 5mm white acrylic. Mask off and spray paint the HAL and "9000" pieces with white plastic-compatible paint. Once dry, remove protective paper and assemble front and sides of box with acrylic glue. Attach white front and grill, followed by the HAL and "9000" pieces. Test-fit your plasma globe, making any necessary adjustments to the aperture or base. Finally, pass the USB cord through the back cover, place the globe inside, secure with tape, and enjoy your plasmary creation while contemplating Dave's fate!
