HAL 9000 brain-key stem
thingiverse
Here is a representation of the Burg Wächter E7/3 key or E7/2 (the second numeral dictates the number of keys in a pack) paired with the print of the memory shut down key used by Bowman when he turned off HAL 9000 in the iconic film, 2001: A Space Odyssey. I experimented with printing using PETG, but achieved better results with PLA as it produced a sharper finish at .1mm resolution. Attached images show various stages of painting. One was completed with silver paint, while the other features a chrome Molotow pen finish. You can also view in the pictures for comparison a real Burg Wächter key that is still available for purchase, but they cost around £7 each including shipping costs. I've included a blank template as well, allowing you to cut your own custom profile. Key profiles appear to be based on pyramids, which may help with finishing off your key.
